2014 Immigration
The “2014 Proposed Immigration Resolution” is presented to the church with the intent of fostering dialogue, awareness, and feedback around a complex and often politicized issue. The ECC is one of many evangelical communities across the country who affirms the importance of engaging in this timely dialogue. Instead of reacting to already-polarized debates, the church has the opportunity to speak into and shape this issue as faithful witnesses relying on our biblical foundation and commitment to follow Christ. This resolution invites the ECC, a historically immigrant church, to learn about and respond to current immigration issues with compassion and justice so that we may potentially shape the current conversation on immigration for the good of all.
Sankofa
A Journey Toward Racial Righteousness
The Sankofa Journey is an intentional, cross-racial prayer journey that seeks to assist disciples of Christ on their move toward a righteous response to the social ills related to racism. This interactive experience explores historic sites of importance in the Civil Rights movement and sites of oppression and inequality for people of color, while seeking to move participants toward healing the wounds and racial divide caused by hundreds of years of racial injustice in the United States.
Our next Sankofa journey will be July 31 – August 3, 2014.
